First off, I will say Bliss does a reasonable job at finding issues and allowing repairs, it did fix a number of problems with the naming of several albums. However it is not very good at album art. I have had to go through many of my albums and manually change the covers because it decided the best image is that of a photo of a CD case (I literally mean a photo of the cover art in a CD jewel case!). Why did I manually change it when I can go through an use Bliss? Well firstly it was quicker, MUCH quicker, but more importantly the buttons stopped appearing over the album art that allow you to change them.

Think I’ll stick with MP3Tag which is also free. Something I didn’t see in the article is that you have to pay for Bliss beyond a certain number of free fixes. Sure MP3Tag needs a bit more user interaction, but it means I have full control over what it is doing, and it doesn’t change my album art to some awful imagery.

did you compare the SQ of different RPi models with Katana?
Is the latest one the best?
Thanks

Thank you Karine.
Yes, we are considering google music, apple music and amazon music as next candidates for inclusion.
Also, the idea to allow for storage on cloud servers of music files is on the table. But we’re evaluating it as it seems it will cost a lot.
MQA is not decoded by Volumio. But our TIDAL implementation is MQA capable, so if you have a MQA enabled USB DAC you will play native MQA (tested personally)

Comment on Volumio for Pine64 released by Karine https://volumio.com/en/volumio-pine64-released/#comment-12971 Wed, 01 Aug 2018 21:54:00 +0000 https://volumio.org/?p=5775#comment-12971 I gave the Rock64 a try and was very disappointed. It’s been terribly unstable on both Volumio and OMV (which i use to store my music shared between several Volumio devices.)
Always have to reboot once or twice before Volumio would get going (sometimes it would reboot on its own), while OMV gave out lots of kernel panic, reboots…and almost bricked a 1TO HDD.
I’ve tried versions 2.390 and 2.424 so far.

I’m sure Volumio has nothing to do with these stability issues. So,is there a specific type and brand of SD cards that you would recommand (i heard faster cards should be avoided), or maybe an eMMC module ?
I’ll stick to my Raspis in the meantime.
Best Regards

Will you consider adding support for the Google Music service as well ? I’ve used it to backup all my non high-res music.
Will you offer a subscription based cloud service in order to store our own high-res-files ?
Last, will the MQA files available from Tidal be decoded by volumio (mqa core decoder), and passed through an MQA certified DAC ? (for those people already into MQA)
Best Regards

Thank you, it works with the analog output (have not tried earlier, I bought a cable yesterday). So my USB DAC is the problem. Looks like I have to go for a Hifiberry DAC 🙂
