First off, I will say Bliss does a reasonable job at finding issues and allowing repairs, it did fix a number of problems with the naming of several albums. However it is not very good at album art. I have had to go through many of my albums and manually change the covers because it decided the best image is that of a photo of a CD case (I literally mean a photo of the cover art in a CD jewel case!). Why did I manually change it when I can go through an use Bliss? Well firstly it was quicker, MUCH quicker, but more importantly the buttons stopped appearing over the album art that allow you to change them.

Think I’ll stick with MP3Tag which is also free. Something I didn’t see in the article is that you have to pay for Bliss beyond a certain number of free fixes. Sure MP3Tag needs a bit more user interaction, but it means I have full control over what it is doing, and it doesn’t change my album art to some awful imagery.

I’m one of the not overly bothered brigade when it comes to cover art, but I am aware that to many Volumio users it is an essential part of the music playing experience. Hopefully people following this as a guide, will be able to sort out some of those little annoying blanks in their cover art collection.
