Wires are not enough, you need a kernel patch (changed pinmuxing).
Without kernel patch and modules enabled in /etc/modules – your system will hang if I2S is used.

Does anybody has really verified the statement that just changing via flying wires I2S to other GPIOs will work?
(without a driver and pinmux update)?
Are the pictures really based on tests as working setup or just based on, where the I2S functions could come out as alternative pinmuxing (ALT2 vs. ALT0).
I tried – with latest Rasbian, I2S drivers – nothing comes out on these pins (obvious, pinmux not changed, not correct), and: my system crashes after few seconds with I2S drivers and playing to it.
Please, if anybody has really a working system – any working setup guideline is appreciated.
